Artist's Description

MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. (1929-1968). American cleric and civil rights leader. King (right) being booked by Lieutenant Drue H. Lackey of the Montgomery, Alabama, Police Department, for his role in leading a boycott of segregated city buses, 23 February 1956. At his side is Ralph David Abernathy, another leader of the bus boycott.
