American industrialist, aviator, and film producer. Waving to crowds during a ticker tape parade up Broadway in New York City, 15 July 1938, one day after completing his flight around the world. Next to him are Grover Whalen, President of the New York World's Fair (left), and Al Lodwick, Hughes' flight manager and press agent.
